With the new operating system being discussed and on its way to consumers, shortly, there will be a Windows 7 theme for each individual to choose from. There are a variety of new themes with this new operating system, not to mention other great aspects about it. The new Windows 7 also uses less of the CPU (central processing unit) and RAM (memory), therefore allowing a computer to run faster and with less problems like freeze ups. There are a variety of new features with this new operating system, not to mention a whole new look.

Microsoft will have tutorials for this new creation, as they have done with previous systems. One can even make their own Windows 7 theme with this new operating system. One can choose from cool blue to black, to a glowing theme with this new operating system. The glowing theme looks like a 3-D effect and it seems to glow. The older, and not so old, operating systems have a glimpse of a theme or two of Windows 7 already. Where does a person find the themes so that they can choose a new Windows 7 theme?

This new operating system basically operates in the same way as earlier versions. Microsoft tries to keep a lot of things familiar for consumers. The things that Microsoft attempts to change are how much faster a computer runs, adding new features, and trying to do all this so that a computer uses can adjust to the changes without too much trouble. For those who want to see a glimpse of one theme that will soon be in many people’s hands, they can download it from the Internet. Unfortunately, this option is not available on a person’s computer. It might be possible to get a glimpse of a Windows 7 theme with Vista, on the welcome screen; one can go to the sites and see everything there is for information about the new operating system. With the new Windows 7, here is how a person can choose a new theme or they can make their own theme when they get this exciting new operating system.

The instructions are basically the same as previous computer systems. One will right click their mouse on their desktop screen, in a space where they will not be clicking on any other icons, and there will be a small box. In that box, look down to the bottom of the list and choose personalize. The next box that will open is the one where a person can choose their Windows 7 theme. If a person has been running XP and has been having problems, as it is not supported by Microsoft any longer; or if they have Vista and it seems to be a bit much for some computers, get ready for a great experience. Many companies that sell laptops and desktops are offering a free Windows 7 upgrade with their new computer purchase. With modern technology, things change faster than ever. They will continue to change. There could already be talk of a new system before Windows 7 even reaches most people. Having a new system that runs a lot smoother, with many other features, and being able to make one’s own Windows 7 theme will be nice.

Windows 7 Professional is the latest edition in the Microsoft family of operating systems. Unavailable in a completed version, there are betas of the software that are free to download. It is scheduled to have a three year development time frame with a release some time in 2010. Currently though there is no set release date and the operating system will only be released upon completion.

Windows 7 Professional will be a definite advancement in the overall operating system experience. Initial beta tests are already showing improvement in boot up and shut down times. In addition accessing documents and other files appears to be greatly sped up over Vista, and again this just in the beta format. Windows 7 is looking to improve touch, speech, and handwriting recognition to make use of and access to computers much more simplified. The operating system is also being built to work directly with multi core processors so that the overall performance of the whole system will be greatly improved.

Perhaps the biggest change in Windows 7 over the previous versions will be in the taskbar. Most of these changes will be visual, although there will be some actual feature changes as well. One of the more advanced features will be the ability to pin applications to the taskbar directly. This will replace the quick launch bar that many Windows users are familiar with. These pinned applications will have increased functionality on the taskbar. This increased functionality feature will be called Jump Lists and it will allow the user to access common tasks inside the program directly from the taskbar.

Another new feature right on the taskbar, next to the system clock, is the Peek feature. Hovering over the this button will cause all of the Windows on the screen to go transparent and allow the user to see the desktop. Clicking it will automatically minimize all of the open windows so you can get right down to the desktop.

Windows 7 Professional will also ship with Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Media Player 12. Unlike the current options in Vista, these programs will both be able to be turned off in Windows 7. In addition to the Windows 7 Professional the Home, Premium, and Ultimate editions will be available as well. It is recommended that in order to run Windows 7 you have at least a 1 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. This system requirements are nearly identical to the premium editions of Vista.

All in all Windows 7 Professional looks to be everything that Vista is not. Easy to use, great on system resources, and a true step in the right direction for a company that has been really taking a beating in the media. With many other options from MacIntosh and Linux now becoming mainstream, Microsoft needs Windows 7 to be a success. My initial assessment of it is that it will be. If they continue to develop the operating system with the user in mind and build it to be stable they should have no problems. Hopefully Microsoft can use this operating system to repair their damaged image.

The most exciting new version of the popular Microsoft operating system software, Windows 7 Home Premium, is currently in beta testing. Previous versions included Windows Vista, XP, 2000, 98, 95 and 3.1.

The current build in testing lists the following as minimum hardware requirements for installation of Windows 7 Home Premium: 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 1GB of system memory, 16 BG of available disk space, and support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory. Also recommended are a DVD-R/W drive and internet access for ease with installation methods.

Installation is a much simpler process than previous Windows incarnations, requiring less than thirty minutes for a typical install and providing most of the drivers along with the operation system. Windows Vista required installation of the drivers from the manufacturer’s disc.

Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional are the two main editions of Windows 7 currently in development. While there will be a total of six editions, most marketing efforts will be focused on the two main editions. The Windows 7 Home Premium edition is slated to ship with the Aero interface, Windows Media Center, handwriting features, and DVD playback. Additional hardware can be installed to allow the capability of watching and recording live television broadcasts from the PC. Less expensive versions of Windows 7 will not include all of the features of Windows 7 Home Premium.

One of the most thrilling new features is the Superbar which replaces the familiar Start button and taskbar. Thumbnail previews of open applications, while introduced in Windows Vista, are now greatly enhanced with the Superbar. While the Start menu itself remains a dynamic and user-friendly interface, it has also undergone some much needed improvements.

The Desktop alternate menu (right-click) in Windows 7 Home Premium advances Microsoft’s trend of putting the ability to personalize the Windows experience at its user’s fingertips. Changing the screen resolution is now immediately available from this shortcut menu. Users will no longer need to wade through menu after menu of options in order choose selections. Pre-packaged themes are also immediately available, each with a desktop background, window colors, screen saver, and sound theme.

The connected Devices and Printers interface is also available right from the user’s Desktop. All drives, printers, peripherals, and external devices can be viewed and accessed from this interface. Troubleshooting problems is easy straightforward with the new graphical depictions of the computer system and installed components.

Industry professionals estimate that Windows 7 Home Premium edition will reach the United States market in the first quarter of 2010, however, Microsoft spokespeople have yet to issue any solid release date at this time. While the Vista edition has been a huge upgrade over XP, many users were less than impressed. Industry professionals and computer experts currently involved in the beta testing of Windows 7 Home Premium edition anticipate a high level of user satisfaction.

If you have been using a Windows XP machine and got yourself a new Windows 7 edition, then transferring files from the old one the new can be a night mare. if you have been using an XP system and missed the Vista update, and if you are ripping your hair apart wanting to know how to transfer files easily, then you would have to take a look at the following to know how best you can transfer your files from your XP machine to your Windows 7 machine using Easy transfer.

Easy transfer is a feature that has been introduced by Microsoft Corporation and is readily available with Vista and Windows 7. To use this feature, you would have to start with the Windows 7 machine.

Plug in your external USB drive into the new machine and click on start, getting started and then on the option transfer your files.

Now, you will see a welcome screen. Go through the welcome screen and choose the option “an external hard disk or USB flash drive”

Next, click on the option that says “this is my new” computer and then on “no” on the following screen.

On the new screen, you would have to select “I need to install it now”. This would install the latest version of the Windows 7 easy transfer on to you USB drive.

Next, you would have to choose “external hard disk or shared network folder” so that the easy transfer program copies to it.

Once the copying is done, you would be asked to connect the external hard disk to the old PC.

Now open the file location of easy transfer on your old system and launch the easy transfer program. Let the progress screen work while this feature prepares to run. Once the preparation is done, click on the tab next on the welcome screen.

On the next screen, choose the third option that talks about an external hard disk.

On the following screen, you would be presented with a list of things based on user accounts that you can save. Now go into the advance setting and click on the files and folders that you specifically want and then click on save.

If you want to password protect the files, then key in a password or just click on next with the password space blank.

Once the saving is successfully done, you would have to return to your Windows 7 computer and plug the USB drive into it.

On the screen where it asks if your old computer has saved the files, click on the option yes and you can go ahead and restore all the files or just certain files from your old pc.

Now select the ones that you need to transfer and click on save. Having done that, the transfer of files would happen automatically.

Once the transfer is complete, you would be given an option between a transfer report and you to select a list of programs to run on your new system.

Remember that with Easy Transfer, you would not be able to transfer all your files or programs but you can be rest assured that this feature does make Windows 7 a dependable OS when it comes to transferring files that are compatible. Now even you can transfer your files easily.

With the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft Corporation has found a great demand for this particular product. Many computer retailers have emptied their stock room to make space for new systems that have this particular operating system. The best part is that Windows 7 definitely has become a block buster showing exceptional sales on the very first day of its launch. If you are buying this new operating system, there is one thing that you really need to know. You would have to learn how the system restore feature works in this new operating system and how you could use this particular option with Windows 7.

What Is System Restore

Windows 7, like Windows Vista is known for a particular feature by the name of system restore. This particular feature does an automatic backup of the registry files and the system files every single time you install a new device driver or software. The system restore comes in handy when you have installed malicious software that has corrupted the performance of your system. You could easily reset the system back to the day prior to having the new software put in. And voila your system would work just as before and would even remove that particular software.

How To Use It

Here you will read about how you could use the system restore function in Windows 7 and reset your computer to a particular time in the past.

If you want the system restore feature to work correctly, then you would have to boot your system and go into the safe mode to get the best out of this feature on Windows 7

To start the system restore feature on Windows 7, you will have to type “rstrui” in the search option or you can type “restore” in the start menu.

On double clicking the system restore option, you will see a screen that says Restore system files and setting.

If you want the computer to restore to a particular date that it is recommending, then choose recommended restore or just click on next to choose a particular date. Remember, that the computer would show a recommended date based on the changes made to your system files or registry.

When you choose a different restore point, the system would show a list of dates on which the changes were made.

Click on the date to which you would like to restore your system to and then restart you computer.

On doing this, you computer would be rolled back to the date that you have chosen and all changes that were made, between today and the day of restore, would be lost.

Remember that you can keep the system restore feature on or off on Windows 7 and that it is best if you could keep it on at all times. This would ensure that you could easily move your system back in time and remove the malicious software without having to go through the rigmarole of uninstalling it.

If there is something new that has been introduced by Microsoft Corporation, then Windows 7 surely has become the new buzz word in the land of software and it surely is getting the necessary hype that it deserves. Many call it a marketing hype created as usual by major corporations and hence are apprehensive about the product and are wishing to buy this operating system only after it proved itself for a few months. This I would call a very pragmatic decision, especially for the fact that it a new product that is launched during the trying times of recession. If you want to wait those extra few months, yet learn few facts about Windows 7 as an operating system, then you will have to read the following to know them.

Windows 7 as an operating system has been successfully launched on the 22nd of October 2009.

This operating system is available to you as Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise Editions.

Windows 7 can work effectively on any new computers or laptops that are being launched.

This operating system also works decently on older PCs and Laptops.

You would know that most notebooks that were launched recently have an atom processor. If your notebook has an Atom processor from Intel and if it has at least one GB of RAM speed, then your system would definitely support Windows 7.

If your hardware is about 3 years old, it could still work with Windows 7. The actual system requirements for Windows 7 would be 1 GB of RAM speed, 1 GHZ or higher processor speed, hard drive space of 16 GB and a graphics card that supports DirectX 9. All these requirements are for a 32 Bit Windows 7 edition.

For a 64 bit Windows 7 edition, you would require a 2 GB Ram while all other specifications remain the same.

This particular operating system would automatically recognize and install drivers for all of your other hardware.

Though Windows 7 can automatically install drivers for your other hardware, it is best that you visit the website of your computer or laptop’s manufacturer and check if all drivers are supported by Windows 7

If it is not compatible or if the Windows 7 edition does not have the necessary drivers, then it is best that you download them and make a copy before installing Windows 7.

Having read all of these must know facts, I am sure that even you would have a better idea about Windows 7 and what it would require. The key to having the best performance out of this particular operating system is to ensure that you have the right system configuration. If your system has been running Windows Vista for so long and if you never had any complaints about the performance, then you can be rest assured that it would run Windows 7 with no hassle at all.
